I was just joking but my friend actually did have to change his last name, he is now my business partner but before that he would never get calls back because no one could pronounce his last name. I could not pronounce it a 12 letter last name with hardly a vowel, so he dumped it for his middle name and got calls right away. He has a typical first name but that last name was killing him.

So you have to also take in to account people being lazy and/or just not willing to call people with names they can't pronounce.

I also have the same problem with my last name but I will never have to ever look for a job again so I don't need to change it and when people mangle it I just say yeah that's good enough.
