My dad is 69 and my mum is 64, so they're quite old. They don't actively hate people of other races, but they'll say things that are casually racist from time to time, just because they grew up in a completely different world. Like I remember when Oprah came to Australia, it was on the news, and my dad turned to my mum and said "hasn't Oprah done well for a negress?" and I was like omg
My dad is homophobic. My mom is not homophobic (anymore, thanks to me coming out). My parents aren't racist, but they tend to say problematic things at times.
my family is racist and homophobic but not to the extent of committing hate crimes (not that it's excusable this way either)
I only have like 3 friends so none of them are racist or homophobic. only one is kinda by default b/c they're "socially liberal but fiscally conservative." they just dont realize their errors yet. I'm working on it.
My dad is racist and homophobic (but more homophobic) judging off the slurs he throws around at least. My mom is simply homophobic. She always brings up religion as an excuse. Little does she know her own son is gay.
Not totally. My dad is dead so I guess that fixed him of those things. My mother has been enlightened on certain things since I came out. Like about how not to use the F word unless the guy deserves it. Also, she's broadening her understanding of trans issues due to the recent addition of a MTF transgendered character on one of her soap operas and Caitlyn Jenner.
As far as race goes, no. But her last boyfriend was black and he done did her wrong. So she'll say some words.
