Father's horrible reaction to his son's coming out

Vancouver-born Tyler, 15, posted the Facebook conversation he had had with his dad on his Tumblr account, in which he is told that news of his sexuality is an 'embarrassment'.
He reveals that he first told his news to his sisters, who were extremely supportive, and then came out to his mother, before telling his father.
In response to Tyler's news, his father wrote back: ‘We took care of you since you were a baby. We loved you, took care of you when you’re sick. Lost many days and nights in all your fifteen years.
'Now this is what we get in return, shame and embarrassment.'
He continued: 'If only you didn't reject God and His teachings in your life you could have been strong enough to stay from evil and scums that surrounds you. Stay away.'
What kind of ignorant, self-centric asshole of a father. I hope he gets raped and killed. Stupid ****.

Why is this so news worthy anyway. This is typical reaction from some parents. It is not like he kill his son or anything. At least he has support from his mother and sisters. But why ridicule his father like that. Like his father will ever accept him now. We all know the struggle and some people will eventually come around. it happened with my parents. It took time. I did not ridicule them online.
He should be grateful that that's where the line ends. Many people here in the Middle East would torture their children for being gay some would even go as far as death.
When i came out to my brother he was like i would "spit" on u if you werent my brother and he was talking about how if i had told him sooner back when we lived in Armenia how he could have fixed me.

No one should face any negativity about their sexuality, straights don't face any negative reactions about their sexuality so why should gays. His Dad is a pretty ****** Dad if he can't maintain the unconditional love a Father and Son should have, right?
That's unfortunate, but I never understand when stories like this go viral. I mean, situations like this happen every day. I don't know very many people whose parents responded well right after being told. You have to give your parents a chance to adjust to the news. Think about how long it takes gays themselves just to accept their sexuality At least his other family members took it well. My mom cried and didn't talk to me for a week lol.
It's so sad how we still live in a world where this happens. No wonder innocent teens kill themselves. That father is disgusting for saying that. I'm glad that kid is getting a lot of support and his sisters and mother are with him.

Well I agree but, he will do so much better without an idiot of a father and I'm just saying that many people go through worse. I would love to switch places with him.
