Because people need to be reminded that this is still a major issue.
Don't try to take the high road by comparing your reaction to this kid's. Good on you for not making your parents' reactions public, that's fine, but you don't know everything about this family and judging him on top of his dad reacting this way is inappropriate. For all you know, the father may never come around anyway. Not all hostile reactions turn back into a normal family relationship - yours might have, but that's not a rule.
