YouTube in general did, but MTV hasn't offered anything exciting around music television for so long and now it's too late anyway.

MTV killed itself. They stopped playing music years before VEVO became a thing.

mainly vevo tho since they are partnered with every label

they still play videos but only from 3am- 8 30 am lollllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

No it didn't. Consumers + the internet did that by making music far less profitable than reality television.

Kinda annoys when people complain about MTV not playing music anymore, but don't keep in mind that they killed it themselves. Your dollar = purchasing power = control over content.

People don't even know MTV for anything except reality tv shows now.

It killed itself. Now it should be called RTV, where R stands for 'reality (shows)'.

NO.MTV was dropping their music oriented shows BEFORE Vevo even launched.

YOUTUBE and Online viewing might have helped in MTV's music video demise, but NOT VEVO which launched in 2009,at least a year after the show this very forum was named after got canceled.
