YouTube might have, but VEVO didn't. MTV also played a roll in killing itself during the mid to late 2000's when it was way more focused on pushing out crappy reality shows like The Hills, Laguna Beach, Jersey Shore, 16 & Pregnant, Teen Mom, etc. instead of trying to keep the musical format alive on television.
