Well I guess they are 'famous' because they are hunted down by fans like some pop girls, but those are only the major ones and internet fame usually dies quickly.
I mean they're pretty famous because a lot of them have about 2 million followers and get themselves trending like everyday. That one kid threatened to leave Twitter and had 3 trend topics all day They literally have obsessive teenage fans just like 1D or 5SOS. They might not last long or go beyond internet fame but I think they're considered sort of celebrities at this point

YouTubers have been invited to countless award shows. Viners are slowly being invited as well, and some of these Viners (cc: Cameron Dallas a.k.a. bae and Nash Grier a.k.a. the homophobe) have even been on GMA.
They're not celebrities especially these viners LIterally 99.999% of their fanbases are made up of preteen girls who just think they are attractive. Watching their vines and instagram posts, and favoriting their tweets is all free so it means absolutely nothing. Now if they were able to achieve serious sucess like in the music business then they have managed to cross over.
