That's just the way it is. You're not going to find truly unlimited data ever again because customers would have a field day downloading movies at LTE speed, which is often faster than broadband internet, and that would cost the carriers a lot of money to provide. 2G/Edge speeds are tolerable, it isn't like you'll have no access at all when you reach the cap.
And actually, it turns out that Straight Talk throttles at 2.5GB. Still a great deal for the price, but yeah.
