Just a choice few of artists that have had songs from their new album to flop. Whatever happend to the anticipation of the new single? I can't wait to hear the new single on the radio. Now leaking is taking over and people are hearing the songs to early and are getting sick of them quick. Does anyone think the same?

All I know is old times are never coming back. Doesn't mean I don't prefer those times. Every song sounded freshier (does that word exist? lol), better... I can't explain.

Janet is not a flop yet, but the other 3 are. Well that does have to do with something, but not enough to make it flop. However if you get a Mariah situation with "Say Somethin'", and release it as a single a year and a half after it leaked, it's gonna flop!

The only flop up there is Nicole at the moment.

Janet's Feedback has entered the top 100 in iTunes everywhere basically but has fell down so quickly. In the UK it went in the top 100 without a video but after the video leaked it hasn't managed to get back in. And it hasn't even entered the top 50 in the US yet. It's flopping!

Nicole needs to just go in the studio and make a solid album, pick a good first single, then release and promote it well. She keeps releasing singles with no album and leaking stuff so unorganized!

Janet is kinda flopping now because "Feedback" started off so strong now it's starting to slow down.

I think leaking does take away from the sucess of songs I can name so many songs that I downloaded early and got sick of them before they even took off at radio. I'm starting to understand why Mariah hasn't leaked her stuff yet, she's keeping it on hold till it impacts radio, which is really smart.

I think it has a part to do with it as well. But unless some rights and freedoms were infringed, there's no way to fix the leaks.

All the artists you mentioned are fading stars, well except for Nicole. She was never a star to begin with, but anyways I don't think leaking will make a song flop. If you have a good song with mass appeal, leaking won't affect it's success.

Nicole has been a star since "Don't Cha" everyone knows it. Nobody ever sung in PCD's song besides her. I don't understand why she went solo like she wasn't already in PCD

To comment on the question, I believe that "leaking" a song can make some ppl (like most of us who've already heard it 93849835 times) lose interest just when the rest of the world is just catching on to it for the first time.
