This is the thread for all of those out there who have watched or will watch Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix, just so you're filled in.

Short review here, but I went to a midnight showing, hoping and praying that the movie would do justice to the book(my favorite in the series so far)...and man, did that movie kick ass. There were quite a few things they left out from the book(some of them being noticeably absent) and there was one scene in particular that bugged me, but the action in the film was non-stop and the acting was actually pretty darn good here, especially the performance of Imelda Staunton as the absolutely evil and despicable Dolores Umbridge.

A couple of other notes about my midnight showing experience:

-- Out of all of the trailers, Get Smart was my favorite as it looks ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS. Please, let it be good. Please.
-- I have rarely gotten really angry at a movie theater audience before, but there were a few ladies in the audience that were pissing me off because they were laughing at just about *everything*, even quite a bit of the more serious scenes.
-- The popcorn I had on that night was so much better than I thought it would be. The Sprite? Not so much, sadly.

For the longest book why it is the shortest movie?

The final battle scene with Dumbledore and You-Know-Who was awesome but it was also missing something from the book... as was every other scene really

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire still my favorite movie in the serie yet, that Cedric Diggory's death scene was the best ever. But anyway, The Order of the Phoenix was really fun. I'm probably watching it again next weekend. LOL at that scene after the kiss when Harry, Hermione and Ron talk about it. That battle scene really kicked ass. And Imelda Staunton's performance was really awesome, I so hated her, lol. <3

Yeah, the movie is good, and you just took the words from my mouth - Every single one. I could just add I think that by minute 40 of the movie they were already at the middle of the book's story. Need to say anything else?

i agree with you. i was highly disappointed. I expected soo much more. Goblet of Fire was 10 times better.

I watched the midnight showing too, but for some reason, although a good MOVIE in general, it disappoints me, as it should, from someone who reads the book. haha, it's always gonna be a set up for disappointment. ;p However, it's just worse, cuz this was my favorite book and the rumors about Cho's friend being removed was true and they altered storylines. Also, my favorite chapter EVER is the one where they fight in the ministry of magic, but there was hardly any fighting for the kids. LAME. = (

It was the best Potter movie yet, I loved most of the scenes just sad the statues didn't come to life and fight (like in the book) at the Ministry. That was like my favorite part.


Reading Book 6 now can't believe its only a week till 7.

Gonna watch it monday.
