Yes. I got over it eventually and made some awesome friends for life.

If they're really close to you, keep in contact with them! I'm a junior in college and I still wish I would've kept in contact with my best friends.

But, you'll also make new ones so be open to meeting new people too!

I just started my junior year a few weeks ago, and I only talk to two of my high school friends on a regular basis. I keep in touch with the rest of them on Twitter/Instagram, but we're nowhere near as close. And it's fine, because we're all discovering our own paths in life. Some people are only meant to be in your life for a brief time.

It's different for everyone, but the friends I've made since being in college are the best friends I've ever had.

That's what college is about, to explore new things that the outside world (highschool) has to offer. Have fun! Chances are you're gonna move on and get over them. But if you really miss them, just keep in contact

This is totally normal and it happens to everyone who want to do something with their life. The chances are that the real friends you have right now will still keep in contact with you and the ones who aren't meant to be in you're life will gradually drift. You'll also meet new friends in college though who will have the same interests and stuff as you since you're studying the same things. I just started a new college in August and for the first week I felt so strange and anxious that I hardly ate. It got better though, I'm settled now and meeting new people too. You've just got to hang on and chances are it will make your're life better than it was before .

Well all of my closest friends went to the same university as me, and we are all seniors, so nope, I really haven't.

Trust me, now you think you might never find friends like that again but soon enough you'll have a amazing group of new friends. College is a life changing experience and when you're not sharing the experience with your old friends its only natural that you'll grow apart, and that's not at all a bad thing. Life is about meeting new people and discovering new things.

I know how you feel! I finished school 3 years ago and took a years break. And my best friends were a grade above me so they left a year before me and then my class friends left too. And we meet up all the time when we fly back to our hometown (met up with them last week actually) and we've became best friends for life! Its good to have time off )

Hmm, I left for college 3 years ago but my college friends cannot compare to my old friends. They're so much more genuine and nicer. It's all down to the area I guess because my old friends were at a smaller state and now I've moved to the capital city. HMmm
