It's tough, especially at first. But the friends you're making now will become close friends. Just wait until winter break. By the end of it you'll miss your university friends.

I had a best friend ever since 2nd grade, going to college actually ruined our friendship... He started hanging around some bad people, got into some trouble, lied to me, did many things to hurt me, and I haven't spoken to him in 5 years (my senior year of college)... I think his girlfriend (now his wife) had a lot to do with it, even though I never met her... Funny thing is that our parents have remained good friends throughout the whole ordeal. I just tell myself that he'll feel sorry one day and it might be too late to make amends... Friends will come and friends will go...

My best friend is still back at home and it's hard. I know we'll never separate fully, though.

I've made friends too, but it's nothing like my old friends, obviously. However, I'm lucky to have another one of my best friends here with me though she can be a bit of a bitch, I prefer not to be around her all the time. A lot of people I know were already here so I feel like I'm cheating in some ways.

It also depends with what crowds you fall into. See with me, I feel so honoured to have met the people that have and have gone through university with them.

My best friends and I all went to different colleges and it was definitely a tough break. The hardest part was actually leaving, and being dropped into a new environment that's about 20 times bigger with a fraction of the friends.

That said...it's an amazing thing. Being torn out of your comfort zone and thrown into a crowd of strangers is the best way to grow as a person. If you're living in the dorms, you'll meet/hang out/become friends with people you would have never thought to socialize with and your life will be better for it. And as cliché as it sounds, the people you'll meet while partying and having late night study sessions are going to become your life long friends.

All in all, it's scary but you'll be so happy your went through it in a few years.

This is my last year of school and I think I don't know what do with my friends. I don't have a lot of friends in school and me and my group are so crazy and it's always hang out together. I don't know what to do actually...
