Discussion: Label Puppets.

In ATRL we consider Label Puppets a bad thing when its actually a really good thing if you are starting out in the industry, they support 100% with promo because you are obeying their demands, they give the best songs (thats why Brit and Rih have flawless catalog). After you establish yourself as a commercial artist they give you full freedom with artistry hence Rated R, In The Zone, 4 and Like a Prayer.

Do you agree ? Disagree ? or need to add anything ?...

I personally believe that probably 95% of mainstream artists' labels have more of a say in what they release than they themselves do

Britney doesn't come off as a label puppet to me.

When Rihanna wasn't a label puppet and was involved, we got the incredible Rated R. Once she became one, her albums started getting worse.
