Gwyneth Paltrow has expressed disbelief in how the sun could possibly cause people harm, stating: "I don't think anything that is natural can be bad for you."
The Thanks For Sharing actress told Cosmopolitan that she tries to get "at least 15 minutes of sun a day" and doesn't listen to warnings of its harmful effects because "the sun is the sun".
"We're human beings and the sun is the sun - how can it be bad for you?" she said. "I don't think anything that is natural can be bad for you."
I don't think she was really thinking when she said this. Sure the sun is natural. But not everything natural is good for you, Gwyneth. Volcanoes are natural, but that doesn't be they are good for you.
She has said some dippy things, but I can't see how 15 minutes of sun a day is harmful. Especially if she wears some type of moisturizer that has ray protection. The sun is natural and gives you vitamin D. Obviously you can get damage from long exposure but that doesn't mean there aren't some benefits. Maybe she just likes nature too?
Ask the people who've experienced sunburn (i.e. me once). You haven't experienced intense pain until your sunburn starts to itch. Then taking a shower following.
