I am an emotional guy and special dates are important to me. I always make sure I make big or little surprises for my family members' and close friends' birthdays. But my problem is I don't get anything in return and it hurts me a bit. My family celebrates it with a cake and buys presents sometimes but I have literally never received a present from a friend or they never celebrated my birthday with a surprise or a party. I try not to care, but I fail.
So I want to know how your birthday is celebrated. I hope you don't get hurt as much as me.
By the way my b'day is approaching, June 30th and I'm already nervous.
Make it known to them all you've done for them. Subliminally remind them. Happy Early Birthday!
Since I'm getting a lot older, my birthday celebrations have gotten less elaborate. I usually just get together with my family, cut a cake, go out to dinner, and have a good time. My relatives also give me a bit of cash.
My 15th birthday I through a party at the park.
I didn't do anything for my 16th birthday
My 17th birthday I had a birthday lunch with friends
My 18th birthday I through a Big 1-8 at my subdivision's clubhouse.
Other birthdays:
8th birthday - Went to Mountasia
13th Birthday - cousins came over
Pretty much the same way haha. Like I almost never get anything on my birthday from my friends because it's always the same week school starts and everyone gets so caught up that they just forget. Then like the next week someone will ask when my birthday is and I'll say "last Tuesday" and they always say "OMG HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY".
It's whatever. As long as the people close to me like my family and close friends say something or give me something, I'm cool. But, I totally get it. I always kinda wanted a big birthday but I never get to have one hahahah.

I really don't feel like doing it because I don't wanna look like attention seeker. I closed my birth date on Facebook last time and only 5 friends remembered.
17th birthday me and my friends went to the club
18th club once again and few days later a party with my family
19th a surprise party at my friend's house and we moved to the park
All my birthday's are pretty normal. I never wanted parties or anything so I just get cake and go buy stuff. As of recent though...
12th Birthday - I had a hotel party/sleepover with friends and it was fun
13th Birthday - Was pretty crappy and I went shopping and then out to eat
14th Birthday - It was horrible and I pretty much cried all night
15th Birthday - Pretty much the same I cried all day and it was a bad day
Hopefully my 16th is much better and it's on December 20th! I really just want a small get together and to do something for someone else tbh.
It was my birthday on Friday. Now that I'm out of uni and all my friends are spread out, it's hard to really do anything major. Instead I did/am doing a string of smaller things over a week with different friends who actually live close by. Kind of prefer it to a big party, actually.
Past birthday wise, it's the usual stuff like dinners, house parties, going out to clubs and for my 21st I got to go to NYC which was awesome. When I was a kid, it was all about "discos". Like, everyone had them.
I don't celebrate my birthday anymore. My 18th was the last one I cared about because it meant I was legal; it was also my favorite birthday because I went to get my first tattoos and bought my first Macbook.
Ever since I stopped caring about my bday and it's pretty much been a normal day, I don't have a big family or lots of friends to celebrate with and I also don't need presents anymore because I earn my own money. When you get older, it just doesn't matter that you turn one year older on a certain day of the year.
I go to a restaurant of my choice with my family. It's been Famous Daves the past 3 years but I think my next, I'll go to Red Lobster. The birthday after that will be my 18th so I'll probably go out with friends.
Nothing. I can't really celebrate my birthday. It's a week before Christmas so nobody can get the time of work, or are busy with christmas related things.
