I wouldn't say bullying necessarily, but I think it's unnecessary. It can be funny sometimes but only when it's clever and well done but it's still a little mean. I'm not a bully because I don't drag, because I don't know how or want to. Either way I think it keeps the cycle of cyber-bullying of some sort going in a way I guess. However, if it's innocent I don't think so. I think we should all just try to tone it down and say positive things though.
I dont take anything on ATRL too seriously, but a lot of us feel a deep connection to our faves, and sometimes take it personally when someone says hateful and mean-spirited things about them.
Yeah, definitely.
But I don't think it's a conscious effort for many stans. Yes, they are purposely "dragging", but it's merely self-defence due to their own vicarious devotion to their own favourite artist. So if said-artist is insulted (by either another stan or celebrity), a stan would take it very personally, and retort in an aggressive manner based on their own emotions.
It doesn't justify the action or make it right, but I think that's the thought process that goes on when "dragging" an artist.
