I hate those types of people.

“Nah, I'm not into mainstream music.”

I can't stand the attitude they have towards people because they're into what's popular, most of the time it makes them look like they're trying too hard to be different from everyone else

I understand some people just don't like pop music, but if they hate something simply because it's mainstream, I think it's kind of arrogant. And I hate when they're snobby about it.

this is exactly what I was gonna say, hating music based solely on the fact that it is mainstream is ridiculous.. I doubt most of them even give it a chance

Yeah, they're annoying as ****, if only for the fact that they don't know how to express their opinion without resorting to that. There's a lot of things wrong with a lot of songs on the charts, but purely being mainstream isn't one of them.

But lately I've been seeing more "it's too indie and hipster!" people than "it's too mainstream!" people. It's the most stupid thing. They'll come running whenever they hear someone new on the charts; I've even heard it about We Are Young and Call Me Maybe.

Very annoying. But I never really encounter such people anymore.

I have a friend like that. We were listening to Pumped Up Kicks on the radio months ago and he was like "change the station, I hate that song", "why?", "it became so mainstream now everybody listens to it", ""

I'm falling in love with a lot of Indie stuff right now. But i still love the mainstream stuff.

It's annoying when hipsters or indie listeners make it seem as if one doesn't know "real" music because they may like mainstream music. Get over yourselves, you hippies.

What's more annoying is when people call you hipster cause you dress nicely

I don't knock something unless I've tried it. It has nothing to do with the fact that the song(s) are popular or unpopular, I just tend to not gravitate towards a lot of top40s stuff. I certainly don't shun everything that's popular, if I did that I wouldn't have the pleasure of listening to Lady Gaga's music.

Also, at the end of the day, it's just music. In the grand scheme of things it really doesn't matter.

They are quite the asshole but it's there prerogative.

They have the right to believe in whatever they want to believe in, but they take it too far sometimes and that's why I don't care for them.
