Well, considering the bunch that we started out with, this lineup isn't that disappointing, especially because both Kitty Purry and Ke$ha didn't make it. What can I say? I love surprises.
I'll wait to see the song choices before I pick any favorites, but I'm already pulling for Flo-Flo. What a great run for her, and I hope it continues.

Shoot, I forgot to vote last round. It's disappointing to see that the brilliance of "Try Again" wasn't enough to push Aaliyah past the less compelling "This Love."
By the way, why did only three acts (Eminem, Utada Hikaru, Justin Timberlake) move on from Week 14? If I remember correctly, both Phoenix and Gwen Stefani were also doing well in the rankings that round.

I agree wholeheartedly about the first point.
And yes, you observant fellow you, Gwen is missing. But never fear - she's playing this week.
Britney Spears, performing Breathe on Me
Gwen Stefani, performing Yummy (featuring Pharrell)
Justin Timberlake, performing Like I Love You (featuring The Clipse)
Kylie Minogue, performing All the Lovers
Allow some time for the songs to go up. What say Friday?

All the Lovers - Kylie Minogue 4. I have only recently appreciated this masterpiece, I bought it this summer, but I can see it becoming one of my favorite songs of 2011.
Justin Timberlake 3
Gwen Stefani 2
Britney Spears 1

4. Britney "Breathe On Me" - Amazing, sensual song. It feels sedated but it gets the message across very effectively.
3. Kylie "All The Lovers" - This doesn't resonate with me very much however, I will give it a few listens every once in a while. I feel that this is a song that I can get in to, but it will take a while. I've never liked any of Kylie's songs on the first few listens.
2. Gwen "Yummy" - It's cute and I like the lyrics but there wasn't a lot keeping me from ranking this @ #1
1. Justin "Like I Love You" - One of his better songs but honestly, I still don't like his music much. I went on Youtube to watch the video and after it was over, Youtube suggested I watch Mishka, the talking husky that says, "I Love You". Let's just say I'd rather have Mishka on repeat.

Welcome! We take everybody here. The Best of the Best is a game dedicated to finding out who ATRLers consider to be the best artist of this century - and also a game dedicated to exposing others to music they might not have heard before. Currently we're in the third round - four artists are playing each week. Of this week's four, all you have to do is listen to each of the four songs chosen to represent them, comment on them, and rank them - 4 being your favorite, 1 being your least favorite.

Interesting. I'll have to listen to the two tracks I haven't heard yet before I make my decision.
What was that top 16 list though?

Well, I want to say that "Wake Up" was the trump card, assuming Arcade Fire got to the final round...eh, probably not, but still!
ANYWHO...
4) Brit Brit - Breathe on Me
3) Kylie Minogue - All the Lovers
2) JT - Like I Love You
1) Gwen Stefani - Yummy

So, I absolutely love all these songs and I'm having a hard time putting them in order. My list might be a little funky, but here goes...
[4] "All the Lovers" Kylie Minogue: "Dance! It's all I wanna do!" This song is like a heavenly techno command; it honestly gets inside my soul.
[3] "Like I Love You" Justin Timberlake: Now many years removed from the ugly Britney/JT break-up, I can finally admit that this song kind of *****.
[2] "Yummy" Gwen Stefani: In my opinion, one of the most underrated tracks from The Sweet Escape. It's just so much fun and that beat is sick. For a second, I thought about putting it first, but this was a tough week.
[1] "Breathe On Me" Britney Spears: For second, I thought this was "Touch of My Hand" and I was like, "Trump card!" This one is great too (intoxicating and sensual as hell), but unfortunately, not as superior.

4. Kylie Minogue - All The Lovers: Not my favorite off of Aphrodite but I just simply love Kylie.
3. Justin Timberlake - Like I Love You: This song was my jam back when it came out, and I can still get down to it today
2. Britney Spears - Breathe On Me: First time listening to this song... I sort of like it but there's something about it that seems to be missing
1. Gwen Stefani - Yummy: First time listening to this song as well... not a fan of it. The production is really good though.

Breathe on Me - very good Britney, but I always felt that this was her/her A&R's attempt at creating her own version of Can't Get You Out of My Head/Come Into My World, going so far as hiring Kylie's right-hand man, Steve Anderson, to write/produce. In the end, it feels like it belongs to someone else. 1
Like I Love You - I've always loved this song; it's a proper solo-starter. The Neptunes at the tail-end of the creative peak, Justin in fine form, and The Clipse getting off funny one-liners. Plus a risque reference to brain? But, having said that, once I heard the Go Home Productions mashup of this and a Scritti Politti song (Like I Absolutely Love You), it was hard for me to go back to the original. 2
Yummy - Sick, and really should have been the first single lifted off the album. I mean, what I just said about The Neptunes' creative peak? This was their second wind. And I love how she references a song that's ON THE ALBUM. Who else does that? Man, I miss her.
AND THAT ENDING. CAN YOU EVEN? The only downside is Pharrell's rap.
All the Lovers - Come on. The backing vocals are my favorite musical moment of 2010. This is deservedly sweeping the week. 4
