So I just finished watching the last episode of Dragon Ball Z, "Goku's Next Journey", and after watching it again, I just had to say something about it and ask this question, because honestly, I just got annoyed.
From watching Goku's relationship with his wife and family, it seems that Goku just doesn't give a f***. He really has no sense of responsibility at all outside of "saving the world" and beating up bad guys. Even when the world is saved, all he wants to go do is train some more and train some more. His family thought he was dead, but no, he's playing with the aliens! He has a wife who loves him, and who he knocked up twice (with Goten, he wasn't in his life for SEVEN YEARS, but couldn't even bother talking to him in those years, yet when bringing up the World Tournament, he finally calls in!! WTF?)
Even Vegeta is sort of a better father than he is because he's actually dependable and sacrifices his own needs for the family, even if he hates it!
Now to this last episode. He drags Goten to fight in the tournament, doesn't see anyone in FIVE YEARS, he enjoys fighting with Uub, and out of nowhere, tells his family that he's leaving to Uub's village. When asked to stay, this is what he does:
REALLY?! When Gohan asks him "for good", Goku says, "Well sorta" and promises to visit (yeah right). And Piccolo being right on the mark saying he's never seen Goku this happy in a long time. Soooooooooo, his family doesn't make him happy?!?!
Goku doesn't give a kitty, not in Z, GT, probably not in Super either. And the constant question in my mind is "why the hell did he have this family in the first place?" Piccolo has been more of a father to Gohan than Goku! So that's my question to you DBZ fans. Do you think Goku is just not a family man?!?!
