Have you ever encountered a credit card fraud?


I got a call from my bank saying there is suspicious activity on my account. I opened it, and there are 30 unauthorized transactions totaling $1000 Apparently, at one gas station I entered my card into an overlay skimmer that the criminal inserted It sucks, but there is an investigation, and I'm not responsible for these transactions

One time I got charged on Paypal for 2 concert tickets I never purchased. I contacted stubhub and they straightened it out.

No but i remember one video at Starbucks where a employee made a copy of the credit card and bought food for 200$ with it and got exposed

My roommate stole my credit card and likey sold my details so the account had to be blocked. I got all the mone back though, due to the insurance of the bank.

Reported it to the police. The last thing I heard of him was that he got a warrant of arrest (for andother fraud, likely)

Earlier this year someone tried to take about $600 from my debit card (must've been from an ATM skimmer) but my account only had $30 in it regardless of my bank's fraud protection

Refunded within an hour and new card sent within 48. Nbd.

It's so easy to copy a debit/credit card information especially if you work as a server

Yup. The same happened to me. Noticed purchases for Nike shoes, Apple, etc. The bank closed the account and sent a new card.

Yes, recently someone purchased 5 sex toys and a box set of Mariah Carey's discography on my credit card. The authorities are looking into it, I'm not responsible for these transactions

I just don't get why credit cards still can't have password verify/protection in the US. Even a 4 digital code is good.

You usually have to sign for a credit card or enter PIN for a debit card, but not at the gas station.
Sometimes they require a ZIP code at the gas station, but it's easy to find out
Also it's easy for criminals to insert some sort of device into a gas station card slot.

You have to call your bank FAST. They will give you a new credit card and should reimburse you for all the fraudulent transactions
