Rape culture refers to the normalisation of sexual assaults in society. It has to do with victim blaming, shaming women who come forward with their stories and submission.
For example, people who say that Kesha is a liar or that she needs to deal with it because she has a contract are perpetuating rape culture. People using the word "rape" to mean "heavily defeated" as in "Man, we got raped out there" are contributing to the desensitisation to rape as a abhorrent and disgusting crime. When people say that "boys will be boys", they are most definitely preserving rape culture in the community. Even the "friend zone" can be argued to form part of rape culture such that nice men deserve sex just for being what a decent human being should be like anyway.
That's what I think rape culture is anyway.

I don't really think it's right to automatically assume anything. I think that mentality is extremely dangerous.

It's a very complicated ordeal, unfortunately. The only thing we really can do is offer Kesha our emotional support.
That's quite insensitive to use the word rape in that way, but I don't think it normalizes the practice itself. Boys will be boys is used to justify stupid ****, but I've never seen it used to justify rape.
Friend zoning is not rape AT ALL wtf

So you're calling Gordo from Lizzie McGuire a product of rape culture??

Friend zone just means you have more feelings for the other person than they are expressing to you, but they do it so in a way you never know if that next step is possible. I've friend zoned people and they're not a product of rape culture.
