Not every country or its national pool of athletes has the facilities, technology, financial backing and even the body stats like height to compete against the countries that do.

Sometimes winning a medal is already an achievement especially for those athletes that didn't have the talent, the government support or body type to compete against the world's best.

He has done so much in his life already and everyone else so proud of him, what the **** does Piers want from other athletes who don't get the gold medal, to save the ****ing world?, he's an asshole, everyone who gets a silver or bronze medal doesn't need to be put down by this ogre, hell, even if you're competing and you didn't win, you're still doing your country proud by just being there and competing.

What's makes him think these non-Gold medalist athletes didn't do their best? Was he there when these people were training for their respective sports? All of the athletes there are competing for the Gold, none went there to settle for anything less. Gold, silver, bronze or last place, being qualified for the Olympics alone is proof that they've excelled as an athlete, I would hardly call them losers. A loser is someone who gives up without even trying - that label just doesn't fit these athletes.
