As a human, human lives are more important. I am a human, and subconsciously I place a higher value on human life than I do on animal lives. Not because animal lives aren't important, but because I am better at relating to and sympathizing with humans on a more complex, substantial level than I am with animals.
If I was an alien or some other worldly being, then I would probably see humans and animals on a similar or equal plane of existence.
So subjectively, humans. Objectively, they're equal.
humans are just as "animalistic." but society tells us to act a certain way. but just because we operate differently doesn't negate different sources of consciousness. and all these beings are here for a purpose. example: bee movie
Well, objectively speaking, obviously they're equal. But don't try telling me you'd have difficulty choosing between the death of a family member or a chicken on the other side of the world. And humans will naturally value the lives of other humans more than animals since we can understand humans better and form much more meaningful relationships with them.
It depends on the perspective... but in nature, no, human lives aren't more valuable.
