Do you pretend to laugh when people laugh?
When people laugh at someone's terrible humour or boring stories, do you pretend to laugh?

yeah but i feel like it comes off as really fake and sarcastic so i try just to smile or something

Basically, everyone calls me out on my fake laugh even though i feel like i try my best to make it seem genuine.

Yes. Isn't there some psychological reason why we do it. Like most of us laugh because we pick up on social cues to laugh?
