The ban on gay men donating blood within a year of sexual intercourse has been lifted for an Orlando blood bank after the late Saturday night mass shooting at a gay nightclub. New donors will not be turned away, regardless of sexual orientation, because blood types O-, O+, and AB are "especially needed." The OneBlood donation center is reportedly "in crisis."
Because of this, the amount of people donating has skyrocketed. I saw a video on Twitter from the news and it's all the way down a street and around the block.

That's not true. The line was long since earlier this morning. People lined up as soon as they heard of the massacre. Since so many people naturally showed up, including some gay, they lifted the ban. They legitmately need that much blood for everyone so they're not ignorantly limiting it. Good on them.
