That's not what he said. He said it's questionable that it's even her voice because of all these pop stars who use auto tune on their voices nowadays. You just don't know what real or what's not. He was just using Adele as an example.

Adele has one of the most imperfect voices on record out there. 21 is full of growls and poor technique. His idea that everything is 'perfect' nowadays is bull. He's just a snob. What makes RITD any more 'perfect' than anything in the past? Please.

Lol. You have obviously watched few Adele performances. She has one of the best live voices I've ever heard. Her performance of RITD on David Letterman is one of the best live performances of all time. Her performing RITD on the radio talk show is also one of the best female vocal performances of all time.

She might not have as much range, but her tone and delivery is probably the greatest of this generation.

it's 2016 literally every artist on earth messes with their studio vocals and her live vocals alone still make all the other girls look like crap

They are so ****ing bitter, it's very sad Adele literally came out of nowhere and slayed every Goddamn person in the industry without ANY effort. It kills them inside, they try to deny it but they're nonsensical comments make it very transparent.

He didn't say her vocals are fake, he said that her vocals, along with the vocals of 90% of artists out there right now, are probably filtered and 'engineered' to some point (which could mean a lot of things) before they're finally blended into a song and released to the public, and that we don't and can't know how close the voices we hear on songs are to the actual artists' voices.

We can all agree Adele's raspy pre-surgery voice sounded better. It's understandable she doesn't want to damage her voice, so it's fine that some of her stuff is "engineered", imo.
