Yes and no. I'm assuming by "one week", it literally means the first seven days. Oasis sold more in 7 days than Adele, I believe. Oasis released in the middle of the week though, so only their first 3 days counted for that chart week. Adele did break that "in a chart-week" record but not "one week = 7 days" record.
She could easily retire after this.
