Never. Spotify has been the best thing for me in terms of music in years. The industry is dying because buying music isn't special, and it's seen as a rip off.
If anything, Spotify is keeping the music industry alive. Music sales have been declining even before streaming was introduced. Streaming allows people not having to resort to download music illegally and in return the artist still sees some money (even if it's a little, which is better than none, I guess).
Never, Spotify makes music available to the masses in a legal way. Very few people will switch to buying albums if Spotify disappears. Stopping Spotify should also mean stopping YouTube and Pandora and all of those less popular streaming services like Slacker and Rhapsody.
Spotify should pay more to artists BUT should keep existing
Can people accept that the music industry will never again be the way it was 15 years ago? It's either Spotify/streaming or musicians won't get money because people will illegally download their music.
Taylor earns 50millon dollars a year. Just because she threw a hissyfit because she wants more money from Spotify, does not mean that Spotify is bad. It just shows how greedy Taylor really is. Spotify is one of the best things that has happened to the music industry
