Katy Perry sells RECORD BREAKING 71,000 downloads in Canada
She now holds the records for:
1) Biggest one-week digital sales
2) Most #1s
3) Most #1 debuts
Quote:
Katy Perry’s new single “Roar” (Universal) sets a new one week download record and debuts at number one on both the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 and the Digital Songs chart. It is the first song to debut at the top of the Canadian Hot 100 since Taylor Swift’s “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” in August 2012. It is Perry’s ninth chart-topper on the Canadian Hot 100 and third to debut at the summit. The song picks up 71,000 downloads in its first week, topping the previous record of 55,000 downloads set by Justin Bieber’s “Boyfriend” in April 2012. “Roar” also debuts at No. 6 on the Hot 100 Airplay chart, the best debut on the list since Young Artists For Haiti’s “Wavin’ Flag” entered at No. 5 in March 2010.

Wait!! Slay Taylor And they say she peaked when she's had a #1 debut in early 2010 and a #1 debut in late 2012 outside of her home country. Still local
