A lot (and I mean A LOT) of people hated what Margaret Thatcher and the Conservative Party did during their rule in the 1980s (cutting milk from being provided for free in schools, closing mines, privatization, utilizing the riot police for everything, her support for Aparteid and her consideration of Mandela as "just a terrorist," her hatered of feminism, the whole Hillsborough disaster debacle which even as a Scouser hater (Chelsea 4 Lyfe) I still have sympathy for Liverpool) and have been waiting for her to die.
Buy "Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead" is those hurt by Thatcherism's only real means of expressing their anger at her and celebrating her death. Tacky? Yes. But considering their viewpoint, perfectly understandable.
And if the BBC refuses to play it on Sunday (the day after the Hillsborough anniversary) I'll both understand and think very low of the BBC for now respecting the buyers. But they have a history of not playing protest entres (Sex Piston' "God Save The Queen" for example).
