VMAs helped a lot. GMA wasn't going to have much of an effect since she premiered the video there 2 weeks ago. She wasn't really gaining much exposure to a new audience.
Because it was a bad performance (of course people on here loved it) and like it's been said several times now, the GP are over Gaga. She can still have some decent success from here on out, but not the level her stans brag about and/or are expecting.
Her power in the industry is declining. Wouldn't be so bad if she and her stans didn't base her entire career off being the biggest popstar in the world.

because she's not shocking or impressing anyone that hasn't already been shocked or impressed by her before. maybe if the song was better it would increase a bit but the fact that it's not a great song doesn't help her either.
honestly every time I watch her perform Applause I feel really uncomfortable because she looks so disconnected from the song.
The performance is keeping the song in the Top 5 on iTunes and it's slowly increasing on radio. If GMA had been a detriment or useless, the song would've dropped off of the face of the earth right now.
