Destiny's Child were slowly becoming the most influential girl group
Aaliyah was breaking records
Janet, Mya, Toni Braxton were still relevant
there was a Mandy Moore and a Jessica Simpson

2001 was a good year, for MUSIC. In no way possible was it the second best year of the last decade.
I suppose. I think 2001 was just a continuation of the great year of 2000. Both were very strong years. I can't say the same for some of these other spotty years.
