I have a different point of view with the song I heard on 2000, but I agree with you on that was one of the best years of music ( The best of the 00's decade IMO
).
Alternative rock was more considered for MTV , they played both pop and rock in the afternoons
I wasn't involved with rap or hip-hop that much on those years, but I did with the boy bands and Christina vs Britney constant rivalry
So many memories when I was a little child, each song have a piece of good memories on them
