This was not shade, this was as direct as it can get.
In Britney's case, if she lip syncs or not, I think she has enough star power for people wanting to see her live without caring if she is actually is singing. At least, I would be interested in seeing her live even if she were to lip synch.
Now, coming back to the video, he is slamming an award Madonna got that year for the Reinvention Tour, and while she did lip synch in Vogue, Nobody Knows Me and Die Another Day, as the choreography required it, she did sing live almost all the other songs on the tour, so his argument is not correct.
