I think the goal should be to entertain. If you can entertain without singing then go for it. If you can entertain with singing AND doing all the extra stuff- then you're simply superior.

Elton always had a love/hate for Madonna...

1995 at the Brits

1998 at his Rain Forest Benefit Gala
Quote:
In 2002 he dissed her on the BBC saying that the video for DAD was good but the song sucked

Then comes this other gem of his in 2004 at the Q awards, saying she ain't worth £160 a ticket
Quote:
In 2007 at a GQ event in London he publicly apologized to her (saying he might also start studying Kabbalah)
Quote:
In 2008 he was at her concert in Nice for S&S and a guest at the French chateau she was staying at
Quote:
This is 2010 performing a medley of her songs
And of course....

Elton is so 'reductive' & 'transparent'..

And he remains one of the worlds best songwriters to ever write. Giving credibility to pop music the world over.
SIR
Elton John is entitled to say whatever he wants and all of yall without knighthoods, including Madonna, can take a seat.

She lip-synced two songs out of the entire set list. I don't think that's unreasonable at all. Madonna doesn't lip sync often, its easy to tell.

In principle, I don't disagree with him, but he was obviously extremely pressed to waste his acceptance speech dissing Madonna.

Yes. Bernie Taupin wrote most of the songs. Elton wrote the music.
