After our biggest season ever in season 5, garnering thousands of replies and making its way to the top pages of the most replied to games in ATRL history, we are BACK with a fresh set of judges, a new host, and a few surprises new to this season. Whether you have songwriting experience or not, please join in to make this season even better than the last one! We're reaching for the stars this time!

If you're unfamiliar with the competition, Platinum Hit is a songwriting competition where contestants submit lyrics to an original song every week based on a given challenge. At least one verse and one chorus must be submitted every week, but a full song is encouraged. Challenges may consist of writing about a theme, fitting lyrics within a certain length, writing for a specific artist, or anything else the the host or judges may come up with.

In an attempt to bring more activity to the thread, there may be new elements added this season. I've planned optional, shorter bonus challenges that may be outside the boundaries of the normal week by week challenges that could have various benefits. In addition, feel free to discuss your song or anything else in the thread, but it isn't advised to post whole songs or sections of songs in the thread.
