Why is she flopping? Is it really because of the superbowl incident?

Her material has gone down hill a bit and the general decline in the market.

I think it's more so the content of her music. I miss classic Janet, it just seems like she's trying to catch up and use the sound of this generation instead of the one that made her so famous. I still and will always love Miss. Jackson. I was just watching her music videos last night....memories.

No one is going to sell 20 million albums from from one LP in these days thanks to the pirating era of music. But less than a million WW with a name like Janet Jackson ought to sell more than that. I would say 3-6 million.

I agree. She needs to stop fitting into the current music scene and be herself. It will sell, trust me. But will she? Let's hope the next album is on the right track!

To hell with sales. Times have changed. No matter what, Ms. Janet will always be the greatest female entertainer to me.

Conservative America flipped their **** over a titty, that's also part of the reason why. Justin Timberlake's annoying ass should have received much more backlash than he did.

Then again, I question it if Janet, producers, and Justin decided against doing something provocative on an FCC-sensitive program.

The Superbowl incident pretty much killed her career. It didn't do much harm to Justin Timberlake's career. Actually, some people said it increased his sex appeal.

i don't consider 1 million albums sold, a flop .

you can't compare sales today to sales in the 80's or 90's

and if you are a truly Janet fan/stan you should appreciate her more, I love all of her music from Control to The Velvet Rope, from Janet to All For You

She just needs to ditch the autotune (See Discipline), I think she has listening to the new track. She's back, she just needs to hit the gym for awhile to get that body back to 100%. Queen!

Feedback was her best song ever IMO.... It was fresh and original. I loveddddddddddddd it.

But it is a flop for Janet Jackson. Regardless of the decline in sales, other artists still sold double/triple/4x+ more than she did in the years she started to decline.

I agree that if you are a true fan you'd forget the sales, but she's also declined musically and if she can't keep up some type of success you'll end up with not hearing music from her at all.

It's hilarous how people didn't have anything against her singing about a "nice package", but the superbowl thing was such a big deal...

Because her music sucks major ass and she's a desperate, tacky ***** that only sings about her wet *****. Nobody wants to hear that.

You took the words right out of my mouth. Justin became a ***** to me after the backlash they got after that performance. He left Janet high and dry, wiped the blame off himself and onto someone who was generous enough to help jumpstart his career. For us fans who remember, N'Sync's first big gig was becoming an opening act for Janet's Velvet Rope Tour. He's an arrogant asshole who America only gave a slap on the hand while Janet took the harsh backlash like none other afterwards. Janet was freaking banned from the Grammy's that year and Justin was suppose to be as well until he "apologized", but Janet's apology apparently wasn't as good enough as Justin's. That and certain way Pussified deals with breakups is the reason why I don't care for him all too much like I did back in his N'Sync games. Karma is a B**** and Justin is on its' hitlist
