It seems these multiethnic women Beyonce, rihanna and Nicki are really owning the music industry right now. Does this end the theory that the industry is more difficult for ethnic women to enter?
I think non-white (especially light-skinned black) artists actually have an advantage in the music industry, especially when it comes to radio. But most black singers don't use it to their advantage, only really Rihanna does, which I suppose is why she's the most successful atm.
And it's easier for a black singer to appeal to white audiences than it is for a white singer to appeal to black audiences.
The exception is of course for country, adult contemporary and alternative music, where it's definitely easiest for white people.
Since when are Beyonce, Rihanna and Nicki biracial?
I know right, they have mixed HEARITAGE. But they are not biracial as both their parents are black. As for what OP said nope, the women own the music industry which i'm talking about is the people behind the scenes ar enon suprisingly white. If were talking in front of the cameras the women that are running the show despite their race are on the lighter side.
Plus, everything is relative and the sales of 4 were WAY off her previous album. (Selling on personal brand =/= hit album....the public rejected the music.)
Since when are Beyonce, Rihanna and Nicki biracial?
Beyonce's father is black but her mother is creole ( mulatto's that are mixed with french and native american)
Nicki Minaj has indian heritage ( look at her cousins in her e special)
rihanna's father has irish ancestry

Nicki's father is Indo-Trinidadian and Rihanna's father is mixed-race I thought.
