Obesity isn't the direct cause of heart problems, it's just a factor that increases your risk for such problems. Being skinny doesn't automatically mean you're healthy. If you're exercising to maintain a slim figure but still lead a terrible lifestyle in terms of diet and stress management, you're at a high risk for a heart attack or a stroke. And it gets even higher with age. And there are other factors we may not know of, like genetics and other diseases being present.
