People use the "lack of airplay" reason as an excuse to why she's not doing well. While that's a part of the reason, there are other factors too. It really does come down to the music. "Elephant" and "Let It Go" are decent songs, but there is nothing remotely distinctive about them. There are a lot of dance-pop songs out there today, so to be successful with that type of music, it has to be somewhat remarkable in quality.
I can't say that for Alex. The two singles so far haven't showcased anything fresh. Her image has been crushed. At this stage, she looks like someone who has desperately gone to the cheapest European hit-factory for them to write and produce her a bunch of lifeless, generic club songs to cash in on a trend that's already fading. It's all been done before. The sad part is, this is all way bellow her capabilities as an artist. She is very talented and can do so much better than this.
She also had a lot of input into this album. I wish she used it for the better, not the worse. I really don't want her to flop, but the album is very close, where it is following a single that's barely made it into the top 30 on iTunes. I don't know if she has a good chance anymore. Not even in the US.
Airplay is definitely the reason its flopping, radio is everything. Let It Go was made for summer, and had it been released by someone else radio would've played and it would have been at least top 5. The charts arent exactly full of quality music

So you're saying that it's Alex herself which is the cause as to why she doesn't have legitimate support from radio anymore? I don't understand why people have such a problem with her though. In my eyes, she really hasn't done anything of note to put people off this much. It's so odd.
Yeah, sadly the DJ's have actively hated her for a while. I hate to shade my own fave bit All About Tonight was a monster on radio and im pretty sure its still charting a year on despite not being the most original song, but had Alexandra released that they probably wouldnt touch it. I do think if she recorded songs that match her talent they would start playing her again. Hopefully they get it right with album 3
Just listened to all the previews... the songs all ran together, they all sound like Let It Go / Elephant I really liked Fire and Between the Sheets though.

She certainly is. People really liked Elephant, some said that it was the song WFL ought to have been. Also a lot of people judge her too harshly because she came from XF, which is a singing competition.
