Except that song came out in 2008, with her album Hard Candy, a few months before The Fame's first release, unless I'm mistaken, which certainly means before the Madonna comparisons.
The song clearly wasn't originally about Gaga, but it seems she has adapted its meaning for the tour.
Guys, why the **** would it be shade? This is obviously something Gaga and Madonna have agreed to, and in fact I'm sure they're both laughing about it. I think the lack of Gaga talk in the past few months was leading up to this moment. I bet Gaga might even come on stage later on or be in an accompanying video.
I think Madonna likes the song BTW, and found the comparison to EY quite funny. I bet they spoke about it together to do something like this eventually, to show that they aren't enemies and surprise the world.
To those Gaga stans, RELAX. I know for a fact this isn't shade, she isn't ignorant enough to do that. Madonna is not dumb.
