The single best song you have ever heard in your life.
(And just to be different, I won't even be obvious and just say "Black" by Pearl Jam.)
Fairly simple question here: What is the single best song you have ever heard?
"Black" is my favorite song and will always be because of the emotional impact it has had on me throughout my life, but in terms of the BEST song of all time, well, there are more contenders outside of "Black". If I had to choose one song outside of "Black", it'd have to be "Kashmir" by Led Zeppelin. "Open Up" by Korn is really close, though.
The writing is simplistically brilliant. And that in itself is the true challenge of songwriting. Conveying momentous meaning in so few, simple words? The use of resonating guitar and throbbing bass brings more to those lyrics than the vocals do on their own.
It's a complete harmony of every element involved in music elevating each singular aspect beyond it's potential it would have on it's own. Complete synergy.
"Behind these hazel eyes" by Kelly Clarkson...because when I first heard this amazing chorus I just wanted to cry cause it went straight into my heart...
