They paid absolute DUST to Carax, Cronenberg, Anderson and Audiard. I was sure that Jean-Louis Trintignant would get best actor too.

Cosmopolis is not even that great. Cronenberg try damn hard to be "arty" and "intellectual" and he fails. Pattinson save the movie though. He aint Terrence Malick. Moonrise Kingdom is good but not Palm d'Or worthy. But really entertaining. Audiard is not really bad but it's not the kind of movie you want to watch again and again and again.

Did you watched it? Amour had winner written all over it, they already love Haneke, then you add two loved actors and a touching story... tailor made for awards, especially in France. I think Holy Motors is too weird and avant-garde for Cannes, even though they love people like David Lynch. I expected Marion to win there too.
