Yeah well that was my point - it sounds like 'shipment' is a bit of an obsolete concept for certain parts of how the music industry works these days.

So 'copies shipped' means basically 'physical copies shipped to brick-and-mortar retailers plus digital copies sold'.

Just sounds a bit of a weird measurement to me.

One fact to remember when talking about retailer sales and shipments in UK. Although OCC is official source for retailer sales, there is small amount of sales that they didn't monitor. If I remember it's about 3-4% from total sales. In normal cases that can be ignored but in Adele's case those 3-4% means 130-170K not monitored by OCC, so it's not surprise that actual sales of 21is very close to 4,5M and additional shipments were necessary.
Searched through some information and find this:
According to OCC year end total for 21 was: 3,772,346 while in Entertainment Retailers Association year end report sales for 21total was 3,924,985 what makes 153K difference.

Will definately sell more than 10 million in the US I would say before it sells 4.8 Million in the UK...Perhaps should be diamond in the US already?
