I'm watching and it's great so far. It's so complex and psychological. It's definitely not the mainstream superhero movie, that's why many people didn't like it.
Sequel
Fox has hired Max Landis to write a sequel, according to Deadline.com. It is not clear whether Josh Trank will return for a second installment. The Hollywood Reporter gave a brief one-line mention in its March 23, 2012 issue that a sequel was in development.
I would love a sequel just as much as the next guy, but what the hell would it be about? I don't want all-new characters with a 'Chronicle 2' title stamped on it.

It's a movie that slaps mainstream superhero movie. It is questioning the virtue of "with more power comes more responsibility", and the black and white dichotomy often seen in hero movies.

I did become morbid near the end, much to my dismay.
