Yes, everyone knows Madonna is a successful popstar. Most people can name a song(s) of hers, yet and still that does not mean she gets the most respect out of the three. Do you know what respect means?
And the things I listed weren't Madge's "flaws" they are definitive things she's done in her career. Whitney's drug addiction was a "flaw", Janet's nipplegate and Madonna's controversial career moves weren't

Yup. Sounds like you dislike Madonna's personality, assume most of the general public does as well, and therefore conclude she has very little respect amongst them. Whereas actually, despite their knowledge of these issues, I believe they'll actually conclude overall that Madonna's great career trumps any bad decisions she may have made. Overall, she is still highly respected.

Jɑnet, not so much. .

The general public, the only entity that REALLY matters, views Madonna as an old pop star trying to "fit in" with the younger crowd. Janet, like you said, "not so much".

Believe it or not a good portion of "the public" view Madonna as an aging popstar, clinging to her youth by ****ing men not much older than her eldest. Add on the sexualized aspects of her career and her bold take on religion, and you've got how most random people view Madonna. Contrary to what's seen on internet forums, most of the women we stan for are viewed as less than old, twangy, male country singers. Maybe it's sexism, but out of the THREE of them I'd say Janet gets the most respect when brought up, people don't "go in" (for lack of a better word(s)) on her the way they do the other two.
Industry respect is a toss-up between Madge and Whitney though.

Basically.
Despite the POV of those in Stan Land, those outside of the culture view all three women as "old' and don't really "have it" any more. Their music isn't as good as is used to be, and all of them should just "throw in the towel", per se. Whitney, to many, is the greatest singer of all time that was a crack head. Janet is Michael's sister who came out of his shadow and showed her boob at the Superbowl. And Madonna is the **** who's had longevity. They're all on pretty much equal footing with the general public.

Madonna's personality is very similar to Mariah's. Both can be bitchy. Both can be shady. Both have had "problems" with younger pop stars who were deemed their successors. And still I LIVE, so you're argument that I can't stand Madonna's persona is flawed.
I'm getting a certain vibe from you though, when was the last time you've talked to a random person? I mean you can believe Madonna has the best discography of any and everybody, you can brag about her success, and you can bask in her achievements, but you are very, very, wrong if you believe the average person views her with the utmost respect.

YES. I've come to terms with these things about my own fave, I mean some of you need to just admit it. Female popstars are never really respected by everyday people the way artists of other genres and genders are, no matter how much they've sold or achieved.

I've followed the careers of all three women, Janet moreso than the others for the obvious reason, and they're all pretty much viewed in the same light based on what I see from non-stans/fans. I remember being in the car with my mom, who witness all three women's rise and fall, some time last summer and a Janet song came on, and she said verbatim, "She's had her time." She's flat out called Madonna "old", while listening to "Into The Groove", and of course Whitney got the drug comment, but still praised her voice. Who is most respected is really debatable, and will ultimately go nowhere.

I took an Introduction to Advertising class last semester and for the final project we had to plan an event to promote something. I was assigned to plan a concert to promote this famous hotel called MGM Grand. I went to my professor for help, so I can get an idea of the demographic and who would best suit it. She told me and I offered Madonna since she is already doing a show there. She had this disgusted look on her face and said," How about someone younger, she is an old hag who is still trying to live in her 20s. She needs to take care of her kids."
