The second half of the trailer isn't as good as the first half, that's for sure.
Seriously, WTT and The Great Gatsby? You can tell by the title art/ first poster that they're trying to draw comparisons to those two works. I mean, WTT and TGG share so many themes.
Ah, this looks visually awesome, and I'm at least intrigued by this book adaptation, though the slight overacting in the trailer alone worries me a bit.
Looks like a really amazing production and I think the casting of Carey Mulligan & Leo DiCaprio is good too, really excited for this film!
I wish someone would do a film/tv adaptation of The Beautiful and Damned though, I liked that more than Gatsby Although I'm probably one of a very small number to think this...

I thought it was a fantastic choice, especially "No Church in the Wild."
"What's a mob to a king / What's a king to a God / What's a God to a nonbeliever?"
Great Gatsby is all about social class and whether you can ever be on the radar of someone who's world is fundamentally different than yours.
I get why they used No Church in the Wild, but it just didn't mesh well with me. It may make sense thematically, but it's still a 2010s song that's propped up against 20s visuals and a story that's a well-established time piece.
Baz is absolutely the wrong person to be directing this film. The CGI and excessive costuming make it look so cheap. The whole tone is just wrong and the attempts at being "cool" with the modern music degrades the story.
