The process required to get (real) dreadlocks is so disgusting. I could never.
You sound ignorant and no it's not. I've had dreads for 4+ years now and all they do is put organic cream with fruit extraction in my hair and twist. And unlike "other" people we don't have to worry about lice issues or our hair smelling like a wet dog after it rains.

Additionally, leaving long hair to its own devices by not brushing or cutting the hair will encourage it to tangle together as it grows, leading to twisted, matted ropes of hair known as dreadlocks. The latter method is typically referred to as the neglect method.
These same people are the ones who constantly accuse black female artists of lightening their skin/wanting to be white because they dyed their hair blonde, etc. The hypocrisy
It only confirms the fact that black women in the entertainment industry must continue to hide their natural hair under straight wigs, lacefronts, or apply dangerous chemicals to their hair to appease the masses.
+1, so glad Rihanna isnt following in those footsteps and is showing that she is proud to be who she is. Props to her.
I hate the dreads but those comments are disgustingly ignorant.
That's kind of why I fell back from really posting on this board. There is too much ignorant and racist **** (especially in the non-moderated threads) that's thrown around at Black celebs.
