With the premiere of ABC’s new reality singing competition, Duets, airing tonight, rumors have been swirling around the internet that one of the show’s contestants was unfairly chosen and given unfair preferential treatment compared to all the other contestants and individuals who auditioned for the show.
The contestant, Jason Farol, is the cousin of Nettey, a poster on the popular Kelly Clarkson message board, the Kelly Clarkson Express, better known as the KCE. Clarkson’s band members and even Clarkson herself have shown favoritism to this particular group of fans over the years, getting them meet & greet passes (while others have to work hard to do so,) even inviting one KCE poster, Jenna, on stage to perform with Clarkson several times over the years – whom we will give a pass, as Jenna’s family was recently in the news after tragedy struck.
A source tells us, “His cousin Nettey managed to get him into the competition after talking to someone in Kelly’s band. He didn’t have to work hard for it at all, unlike everyone else who has been busting their behinds off, which is why some people on the Duets set believe he’s being given unfair preferential treatment. There’s so much drama going on behind the scenes.” Adds the source, “I wouldn’t be surprised if they rig the show so he wins.”
