Danity Kane's debut album has just been certified platinum by the RIAA according to Dawn.

She writes on her website:

RIAA just confirmed today that Danity Kane is Platinum!! This is a huge deal for us. Thank you to all the fans who supported us. You guys have no idea how much this means to us!! This had been our dream and our goal when making this album. To all the hate, who never believed.....and all the people that knew from the beginning......We did it!!! We luv you guys and lets Party!
There will be a press release soon so wait until they put it out to go crazy!! It will be on RIAA website and Billboard. Here is to Grammy's and so much more!! Now we have to make Ride for you number 1!!!!

They only released one single so far and already platinum. I hear double platinum coming with "Ride For You" and "Want It" on the way

Good for them. It's unusual for a group/artist to wait so long to release another single. There should be a slight bump in sales when they do though

Congrats to DK! I'm so happy for them. They deserve it.

This would have been surprising to me if you had told me this at the beginning of the year. The reason behind the long wait for a 2nd single has to do with staying power "Show Stopper" has had, staying consistently within the Top 25. Although, I'm sure that in a way, The Pussycat Dolls have definately helped their sales (as in an appeal for girl groups).
